Just Trust Solutions Inc (JTS)
In June 2004 for was contracted by Just Trust Solutions Inc, a Washington DC based provider of software solutions to the Class Action Trust industry, to develop an online claims input and management system to be utilised by a number of large, US based, trusts.
The Challenge
The system was to be used by US law firms who wish to file compensation claims on behalf of their clients for injuries or illnesses caused by products such as asbestos.
Within the system, the following functionality was required:
- Administration control of user accounts
- Secure daily import/export to central offline database
- User control of own account
- Ability for users to add claims
- Ability for users to edit existing claims
- Dynamic generation of PDF with dynamic bar-code generation
Due to the quantity, importance and sensitive nature of the data, it was very important that the development of the system was planned well and that a detailed specification was developed.
The Solution
Foresite and JTS worked together to create a system specification and development plan which all aspects pf the project from the database back-end to the design of the forms which would be used to input claim data.
The final system was built over the course of 6 weeks and consisted of a user account management interface along with approximately 20 connected online forms which allowed users to input claim information. Due to the legal nature of the process, there was also a requirement for claims to be filed in a duplicate hard copy. Therefore a further system was developed which dynamically created completed claim forms along with dynamically generated bar codes which could then be printed and filed by the users.
The Result
The result of this project was the creation of a scaleable and easy to use system which has the capacity to allow many thousands of users to manage a very large number of claims.
Currently the system is being tested and evaluated by a number of JTS's clients.
