Junior Project Manager
We have a requirement for a Junior Web Project Manager.
For the this position, you will initially be assisting a senior project manager in managing the design and development of web sites and applications for a variety of public and private sector clients. You will strengthen your experience by working on a wide range of projects that include e-commerce and other transactional web sites, content management systems, intranets and more. As your skills and experience grow you will have the opportunity to take the lead on new projects and help new and existing clients with their online strategy.
This role is very hands on and will involve:
- Working closely with and assisting a senior project / account manager
- Management of projects including client liaison and ensuring projects are delivered to specification, on time and within budget
- Working with and directing designers and developers who will carry out the majority of the production work.
- Understanding client business objectives and helping to document their functional requirements
- Creating wireframes and writing functional specifications
Carrying out a limited amount of non-technical production work (mainly HTML / CSS) - Supporting pitches to new clients - providing input to proposals, pricing and eventually presenting as part of the bid team
The successful candidate is likely to hold a Business, Digital Media or IT degree and have a strong understanding of web development and design. You will also possibly have some project management or business analysis experience.
Desirable experience includes:
- Fair knowledge of HTML / CSS and any other web development technologies
- An eye for detail, good design, customer service and high quality standards
- Some Web application programming experience (not essential, but advantageous)
- Some project management experience
In order to be considered for this role you must be enthusiastic and self-motivated. You will have a solid technical understanding as well as a strong business focus and appreciation of customer service. You will be able to work effectively with limited supervision and as part of a dynamic team. Effective communication skills are essential as this role involves client liaison at all levels.
