Foresite to develop supply chain solution for popular high-street chain
A popular high street retail chain has awarded Foresite the contract to develop an internal supply chain solution to allow sales made via mail order or the internet to be fulfilled directly from stores.
The chain, which has over 50 stores nation-wide, makes approximately 75,000 sales through its website each year. Currently a large proportion of the stock to fulfil these orders is held in their stores around the country and this stock has to be recalled back to the central warehouse before being shipped to the customer; a time consuming and expensive process.
The new solution developed by Foresite automatically allocates both internet and mail-order sales to the relevant stores based on complex algorithms. As well as allocating orders, the system also links directly to UPS via XML in order to automatically book collection and generate shipping labels. Each store can log into their own area within the system and manage the sales allocated to them.
Branwell Moffat, Projects Director at Foresite said "This new solution will not only save our client tens of thousands of pounds every year but will also allow them to reduce the time it takes to fulfil an order by a number of days".
Foresite moves to new offices
Owing to recent expansion, Foresite has out-grown its offices in South Wimbledon and has recently moved to new and larger offices in central Wimbledon.
On the 18th of July Foresite moved to their new headquarters in Wycliffe Road, a modern mews complex consisting of 8 seperate office buildings.
This is an exciting move for the company as it will provide Foresite with more space for continued expansion as well as room to create an open and spacious working environment for its team.
We wish to extend an open invitation to all of our clients to visit us in our new premises.
